My Favorite Things: February Edition

Just like everything else In life, this list will be ever-evolving, and updated monthly. Here are a few of the things I'm digging this month, Enjoy!

Apotheke Candle

I actually discovered this Brooklyn Based Company in the Curateur Subscription box. (Another one of my favorite things right now), And I instantly became obsessed. What surprised me was the Charcoal scent. Per the website:

Our signature matte black candle fills your room with cedarwood and sandalwood combined with notes of smokey amber and oud in a broody, full-bodied fragrance.

And the scent is woodsy. Which I typically don't like, but this scent wasn't overpowering. And the candle according to the sight has an estimated burn time of 60-70 hours. those claims are not exaggerated. I've tried other scents from this brand and have yet to be disappointed. the candle is a bit pricey at $38.00 each for the single wick, but you do get your moneys worth. Check it out here,

SubScription Boxes

I couldn't begin to tell. you how, (probably a targeted ad on instagram), but somehow over the course of quarantine, I have discovered and developed an affinity for subscription boxes, there's a subscription for anything you can think of. there's sites, blogs, channels dedicated to it. I am ashamed to say, I've tried 20 plus subscriptions over the last year, but have finally narrowed it down to three I enjoy. Boxycharm, being one of my absolute faves. there are different tiers, but for $25,00 a month you receive 5 full size products from beauty and skincare, that have a value of at least $175.00. the only issue I have, is product backlog, lol. I end up gifting a lot of my makeup and skincare to friends and family.

CasaMigos tequila

I may be a little late to the party, but this is some damn good tequila! its so smooth, and good to the taste. George Clooney and the folks over at casamigos crafted a winner, when they created this tequila. it's best in it's class for sure. the bottles are in the $50.00 to $70.00 range, depending on the type of tequila you prefer, I've tried the resposado and the anejo. both are equally good. if you one to try one, I'd hurry, the tend to quickly sell out.

Forgiving what you can't forget

lysa terkeurst

the book is all about, you guessed it: forgiveness. more specifically how to let go and move on when you just can't forget the hurt you have been cause. terkeurst wants you to learn how to confront the painful memories, make peace with them, and move on. disclaimer: it is christian-based. while I believe whatever your religious affiliation you could get something out of this book, a lot of the principals she discusses have a foundation in christianity.

AIRPODs MAX

I promise this isn't a flex. I recognize just how expensive these headphones are, ($549.00), and there is absolutely no reason I should own them. But I do, they sound great, and while I'm ashamed of how much I spent for them, I do enjoy them and they just make me happy. yes apple should be ashamed of themselves, and I think they just don't care about the average consumer and have lost their collective minds. but I have swallowed the blue pill and entered the matrix, Mkhb provides the best explanation of how I feel over on his channel. check it out.

the home edit

I absolutely love Clea and Joanna and their company the home edit. here's why:

The goal in starting The Home Edit was to reinvent traditional organizing, and merge it with design and interior styling. While every project is rooted in functional systems that can be maintained for the long term, there is just as much emphasis placed on transforming the space visually and adding their signature stylized aesthetic.

Need I say more! I love organizing, I love everything having it's own place and these chicks have revolutionized organization and made it cool. love, love, love! they have a show on netflix as well, which is where I originally fell in love with them. obsessed!

Heaux Tales

jazmine sullivan

Jazmine Sullivan is back, and she is killing it with her new album. she's been gone from the music industry for quite some time, and she came back with a bang when she dropped this album late last year. it's been on repeat ever since she dropped it a few months ago.

every plate

ok, so I've never been one for a meal plan subscription. they've always seemed a bit gimmicky. they draw you in with the whole "a family of five can eat for 0.99 cents a month, and then after the hidden charges, and once yo've gone thru the check out process, that price rises to $190,001. that wasn't the case with everyplace. now granted, I tried it because it was offered to me thru the t-mobile Tuesdays app (love that as well btw). and I was able to try it for three weeks at 50% off. but now that the trial period is over I'm sticking with it. I get proportioned meals, with the ingredients for a family of four, five meals a week, for $116.00 a week. that means for five days out of the week I don't have to worry about what we're eating for dinner. the menu is robust, and the recipes aren't hard to follow. my family and I are loving it. it's even gotten my husband to try his hand at cooking. something he never does. you can check it out here.
